Privacy Policy

The short version: NetworkCheck.net does not require accounts or logins. The diagnostic tools run in your browser and your exact results are never sent to our servers. If you use the Suggest a Tool form, we receive the text you choose to submit. We use Google Analytics to understand basic, non-identifying tool usage such as whether a speed test was started or completed.

1. Who We Are

NetworkCheck.net ("we," "us," or "our") provides free internet diagnostic tools including an internet speed test, IP address lookup, and website status checker. Our site is located at https://networkcheck.net.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

Your name, email address, or any contact information, unless you voluntarily type it into the Suggest a Tool form
Your IP address on our own servers (your IP is fetched directly by your browser from third-party APIs)
Your internet speed test results
Any URLs you check using the "Is It Down?" tool
Payment or financial information of any kind

We have no user accounts or login system. If you choose to suggest a tool, your suggestion is submitted through Google Forms so we can review requested tool ideas.

3. How Our Tools Work

Each tool on NetworkCheck.net operates entirely within your browser:

Speed Test — measures your connection speed by downloading and uploading test data directly between your browser and Cloudflare's servers. We do not see or store your results.
IP Address Lookup — your browser requests your IP information directly from a third-party geolocation API (ipinfo.io). We do not receive or log your IP address.
Is It Down? — your browser queries Google's public DNS service to check whether a domain resolves. We do not log the domains you check.

4. Feature Suggestions

If you use the Suggest a Tool link, you will be taken to a Google Form. We collect the text you submit there so we can review ideas for future NetworkCheck features. The form does not ask for your email address. Please do not include IP addresses, private URLs, passwords, or personal information in your suggestion.

5. Third-Party Services

Our tools rely on the following third-party services to function. Each has its own privacy policy:

Cloudflare (speed test) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
ipinfo.io (IP lookup) — ipinfo.io/privacy-policy
Google DNS (site status check) — Google DNS Privacy Policy
Google Analytics (anonymous usage analytics) — Google Privacy Policy

Google Forms (tool suggestions) — Google Privacy Policy

These services may collect standard server log data such as IP addresses and request timestamps as part of their normal operations. We do not control or have access to this data.

6. Analytics

NetworkCheck.net uses Google Analytics to understand basic site usage and improve the tools. We may track non-identifying events such as speed_test_started, speed_test_completed, ip_check_used, website_status_checked, copy_ip_clicked, and feature_suggestion_submitted.

We do not send Google Analytics your exact IP lookup result, the URLs you check, exact speed test numbers, suggestion text, names, emails, or account information. For speed and website checks, we may use broad buckets such as download speed range, ping range, response time range, or online/down status.

7. Advertising

NetworkCheck.net displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

8. Cookies

Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure site usage and serve advertisements. The "Is It Down?" tool uses your browser's localStorage to store a brief history of recently checked sites. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

9. Children's Privacy

NetworkCheck.net is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our site, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
